About the Event
WETA members and the public are invited to participate in the WETA screening of The National Parks Celebration from Central Park.  This simulcast event from New York City's Central Park features clips from Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan's new series The National Parks: America's Best Idea.

About The National Parks
The National Parks will premiere on WETA Television and throughout the nation on September 27, brought to you by WETA. This exciting new documentary series presents the story of an idea — as uniquely American as the Declaration of Independence and just as radical — that the most special places in the nation should be preserved, not for royalty or the rich, but for everyone. The monumental six-part, 12-hour film is the latest in a long series of award-winning, landmark productions from Florentine Films and WETA. We have shared a production partnership for more than twenty-five years with Ken Burns and his Florentine Films colleagues, and projects are being planned up to a decade beyond.

Funding for The National Parks: America’s Best Idea is provided by General Motors; Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund; Corporation for Public Broadcasting; The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations; Park Foundation, Inc.; Public Broadcasting Service; National Park Foundation; The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation; The Pew Charitable Trusts; and Bank of America. Local corporate funding is provided by the National Parks Conservation Association, REI and GEICO. Local funding for outreach activities is provided by Park Foundation, Inc. and The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation.
